הוואה פורסטריאנה (קנטיה)
 
דקל הקנטיה, כמו שהוא מוכר כאן, נחשב לאחד הדקלים הפופולאריים ביותר בעולם בגינון פנים, מאז אמצע המאה ה19.
מקורו באי הקטן "לורד האו" , הנמצא באוקיינוס הפסיפיק ממערב לאוסטרליה. בשל האקלים המיוחד באי זה, ממוזג קריר, הררי, יכול היה דקל הקנטיה להתאים עצמו למגוון רחב מאד של אקלימים ותנאי גידול.
גזע הקנטיה אינו עבה במיוחד, בעל טבעות ירוקות , ונוף נוצתי מרשים ירוק כהה בצבעו.
דקל הקנטיה הפך פופולארי עקב עמידותו הרבה בתנאי הזנחה, רוחות מלוחות וקרות קלות. בגיל בוגר של מינימום 5 שנים אפשר למוצאו גם מתאים עצמו לשמש מלאה.
מאחר ושימושו כדקל פנים נפוץ במיוחד, יש להמליץ להוציאו תקופתית לפינה מוצלת בגינה ולתת לאבק המצטבר על ענפיו להישטף ולעץ לחדש גידולו. שימושו רב גם בגינון חוץ בשתילה קבוצתית או כעץ שדרתי.
 
 
                                            HOWEA   FORESTERIANA
 
 
Howea Foresteriana is one of the most commonly cultivated indoor palm in the world, since the middle of the 19^th century.
Its origin is the island of LORD HOWE in the Pacific Ocean. Due to the special climatic conditions there  it is able to adapt itself to a wide range of climates and growing conditions.
The Howea Foresteriana has a slender trunk that develops green rings, and graceful feather like fronds with dark green leaflets.
It became a worldwide favorite as a result of its ability to withstand neglect, salty winds and some mild frost. From a mature age (of 5 years), it will also tolerate    direct sun.
Though it will continue to grow if neglected, it is recommended to move indoor plants outside from time to time, to a shady spot and let dust and dirt be washed of the fronds.
Outside it is commonly used as avenue palm or in group planting.
